This year we will offer a new cre­ative ver­sion of the com­bi­na­tion of Molière’s play, Le bour­geois gen­til­homme and the opera of Richard Strauss, Ari­adne of Nax­os.

A group of Com­me­dia dell’arte actors present the ancient Greek sto­ry of Ari­adne in the form of an opera.

Poor Ari­adne is depressed on this lone­ly island, because The­seus has left her. The actors give her and all of us a les­son what to do, when being aban­doned like this. Just wait for the next man to arrive, don’t be depressed, trust your trans­for­ma­tion in a new hap­py life!

In the first half of the evening, the orches­tra will play the Suite of Le bour­geois gen­til­homme by Richard Strauss and my co-direc­tor Chiara d’Anna has cre­at­ed a chore­og­ra­phy for the Com­me­dia dell’Arte char­ac­ters, as they pre­pare the opera…
